Owner Days: Dream Yacht Owners’ Meeting
Every year, at the end of the sailing season, an event is held at one of our bases, that is entirely dedicated to our owners. The Owner’s Days bring together nearly a hundred of our partner investor owners at one of our bases for a few days of relaxation and exchange. This year, the rendezvous was in Croatia, from our base in Trogir, from October 20-22.
These days are very important to us and represent much more than just a few days of relaxation and sailing. It is an opportunity to meet or reconnect in person with partners who trust us. Furthermore, our owners sail extensively on our bases and boats. They have a keen eye, and we are particularly interested in hearing about the experiences of these users of our very special sailboats. Throughout the weekend, we are available to answer any questions or discuss any ideas. We are not here to sign contracts, but if the need arises, we could.
We organize these days during a weekend in the Mediterranean, where the often mild climate at this time allows for a sunny end of the season. This year, our Owner’s Days were held in Trogir, Croatia, not far from Split, just opposite the island of Brac. Trogir is a picturesque small town, well connected by air from Split Airport. This is important to simplify the journey for our Owners who sometimes come from far away.
We pick them up at the airport and deliver them to our base, where we have prepared about fifteen sailboats for the occasion.
Once there, the cabins are allocated based on acquaintances and spoken languages; our Owner Care manages the entire event, including the distribution and preparation of the cabins.
Our guests settle in, as if in a hotel or as those on our cabin charters, in prepared cabins with beds made.
On Friday evening, we offer a welcome cocktail at the dock, and everyone can explore the beautiful city hosting the event.
The next day, it’s time for sports! We organize a regatta between the boats and their makeshift crews. This year, the course consists of sailing around the island of Brac.
Brac is a large Croatian island, both lush and rocky, offering truly beautiful landscapes. On Saturday morning, we organize a briefing for the skippers, and everyone lines up at the starting line for the first leg of the regattas. Of course, it’s not an ultra-competitive race, but some crews get into the spirit, and the finishes are often very close!
We have lunch at anchor before heading out again in the afternoon for a second leg of races. On board each sailboat, members of our staff accompany you. It’s a good opportunity to exchange experiences of chartering, directly, within the framework of our management contracts.
It’s also a good time to discuss future plans, like acquiring a new yacht and placing it in a management program. Did you know that more than three-quarters of our partner owners are not on their first contract?
We are particularly proud of this figure, which demonstrates the commitment of our teams at the bases to provide first-rate service to our owners when they use their weeks, as well as our ability to maintain the sailboats entrusted to us in perfect working order, ensuring their resale value.
On Saturday night, it’s time to party! Our gala evening has always been a white-themed event, and this year we will welcome our guests at the best restaurant in Brac and spend the night at the ACI Marina in Milna.
During the evening, we presented awards to the three most successful crews in the day’s regatta.
The next day, we return to Trogir, and disembarkation takes place in the afternoon or the following day. The evening takes place ashore, according to everyone’s desires and schedules.
Finally, after our successful weekend together, we accompany our guests to their planes before returning to our own normal lives, leaving the wonderful living spaces that are our boats!
